If a beloved friend who loves and honors his mother (Exodus 20:12) invites you to a party at his house, would you go there, and not show proper respect, reverence, admiration, and appreciation to his mother? The hype about Mary is no hype. She is truly all that, and then some. Even if you were to dismiss everything surrounding the Annunciation, and the Nativity (which you shouldn’t), why would he entrust his beloved apostle to her care, and vice versa, at the foot of the cross? Think about it. What entered the universe through her, was nothing short of the true and real God. And he chose her, above all other creation.
